Just thought I’d take a moment to acknowledge a great comedian died today. He inspired many of us in the new generation. Hopefully we can carry on his torch of unabashedly calling out ignorance.

“I can remember when I was young that poor people lived in slums,” he once riffed. “Not anymore. These days, the economically disadvantaged occupy substandard housing in the inner cities. It’s so much nicer for them.”

the dude changed my fucking life. he was the first mainstream atheist i’d ever known about. plus he was smart, funny, and socially aware. he was definitely a big role model during my formative years.
